The Last Landing of Charles V in Laredo 2026
From Thursday, September 17 to Sunday, September 20, 2026, Laredo will return to the year 1556 to commemorate the arrival of Emperor Charles V to the Cantabrian coast, before embarking on his journey to the Monastery of Yuste.
Declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest , this grand historical reenactment transforms Laredo into a Renaissance town. Its streets and facades are decorated with banners and standards while parades, historical reenactments, period tournaments, street performances, and a large Renaissance market take place.
The reenactment of the emperor's arrival is one of the most anticipated moments. The program unfolds in various locations around Laredo, particularly on Salvé Beach, in the Old Town, and in the town center.
